About the UEM Central Library Programme Blog

With this blog, the team working with the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) Central Library Programme within the Sida Research Training Partnership Programme, shares the content and activities of the five year cooperation, launched in November 2017. Our joint work aims at contributing to the development of a modern research library at UEM, through increased access to and usage of resources and capacity building including masters and PhD Training as well as cooperation at a national and regional level. The Swedish partners are the University of Borås and the Blekinge Institute of Technology. By following the blog you will be updated on the activities and get an insight into the cooperation.

Materials from Information literacy workshop at UEM - October 2019



In October, Anna Stockman from Blekinge Institute of Technology facilitated two workshops for library staff. The participants from UEM came to the first workshop which was a follow up of the 2018 information literacy workshop.

The second workshop, "Introduction to information literacy" was organized for participants from libraries outside UEM.

The presentations used during the workshops have been combined into one single PDF-document.

Interesting possibility to learn more about Research4Life.

"Research4Life is [...] launching a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) that will equip existing and future users of the Research4Life programs (Hinari, AGORA, OARE, ARDI and GOALI) with the knowledge and skills required to access and use the information efficiently. The call for applications to attend the MOOC is now open, and the course will take place between 11 November to 15 December 2019."
"Participants are expected to spend on average six to eight hours per week on lessons and activities, such as contributing to discussion forums and webinars."

Study visits

For three days I was given the opportunity to visit libraries at universities and institutions in Maputo, Matola and Chibotu. I would like to thank all the people who made this possible! It has been some very interesting and important days.
